Install on iPhone or iPad

Install BakeDash before you enter your bakery. On iPhone and iPad the Home Screen app keeps its own storage, separate from Safari, and Safari can clear data for websites you haven't used for 7 days.

1. Open your private link from START HERE in Safari (not a private tab).
2. Tap Share. If it isn't in the toolbar, tap ⋯ first.
3. Choose Add to Home Screen (under View More if you don't see it), then Add.
4. Open BakeDash from your Home Screen and set up your bakery there.

If the Home Screen app shows the BakeDash product page, paste your private link into the box at the bottom of that page and tap Open BakeDash.

Install on Android

1. Open your private link from START HERE in Chrome.
2. In BakeDash, open Settings and tap Install BakeDash. You can also use Chrome's menu ⋮ › Add to Home screen or Install app.
3. Open BakeDash from its icon on your Home screen.

Install on a Windows, Mac or ChromeOS computer

• Chrome or Edge: open your private link, then choose Install in the address bar (or Settings › Install BakeDash). BakeDash opens in its own window and can be pinned to the taskbar or Dock.
• Safari on a Mac: open your private link, then choose File › Add to Dock.
• Firefox: can't install apps. BakeDash works fully in a normal tab; bookmark it.

Open BakeDash with your private link

1. Open START HERE.pdf from your Etsy download and tap Open BakeDash.
2. Use your normal browser, not a private or incognito window: BakeDash keeps your bakery in ordinary browser storage.
3. Afterwards BakeDash opens at bakedash.jykdigital.com without the link. Keep the PDF in case you ever need the link again.

Your link is just for you: please don't share it or post it online.

Set up your bakery

1. Choose Set up my bakery.
2. Answer five questions: your bakery's name, currency, units, your hourly target and your target margin.
3. Follow the first steps on Home: add your ingredient prices, then your first recipe and product.

Explore the demo bakery

Choose Explore the demo bakery to try BakeDash with Sweet Crumb Bakery's orders, recipes and market. Nothing you do there affects a real bakery. When you're ready, tap Start my bakery in the demo banner.

Back up your bakery

1. Open Backup (in the menu, or Settings › Back up bakery) and tap Back up bakery.
2. Save the .bakedash file somewhere safe, such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.
3. Back up again after a busy week. BakeDash reminds you when it's been a while.

Anyone with the file can read your bakery, so keep it private.

Move to a new device or to the installed app

1. On the old device (or in Safari), back up your bakery.
2. On the new device (or in the installed app), open BakeDash with your private link.
3. Choose Restore from a backup file and pick the file. BakeDash checks it and shows what's inside before anything changes.

BakeDash doesn't sync between devices, so keep using one main device after moving.

I see the BakeDash product page instead of my bakery

This browser hasn't been unlocked yet, or its cookies were cleared. Open your private link from START HERE again, or paste it into the box at the bottom of the product page. Your bakery is still in this browser's storage; opening the link brings it back.
